What is two-factor authentication (2fa)?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security designed to ensure that only authorised users can access your account. We recommend activating it to keep your account safe.

With 2FA, you'll need to provide a unique code when logging in in addition to your password. CrowdWorks is compatible with popular authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator or any other authenticator apps that deliver one-time passwords (OTP).

Note: After you have activated 2fa, you will need it to log in.

How to enable two-factor authentication on your account

To activate 2FA on your account, follow these simple steps:

  1. Download for example the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app from The App Store (IOS) or the Google Play Store (Android).

  2. Enable two-factor authentication by typing your password and clicking enable

We will send you an email after this step to explain the next steps you need to take. You can also read them below.

Next time you log in, you need to have your authenticator app of choice ready.

  1. Log out to finish the set-up.

  2. Log back into CrowdWorks; enter first your email and password credentials.

  3. Open your authenticator app on your mobile phone and proceed to add a new item.

  4. Scan the QR Code on the screen with the app.

  5. After you have successfully added a new item, the app will automatically generate a one-time password for you. Enter that into the text box on the screen.

  6. Click "Continue".

  7. Copy the recovery code provided to you on the next screen and make sure to save it in a safe place.

  8. Confirm that you have safely recorded the code and click "Continue" to finalise the set-up and log in.

Done! You have now set up 2fa on your account.

Logging in with 2FA:

When logging in with 2FA enabled, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your username and password as usual.

  2. Open your Authenticator app to retrieve the current code.

  3. Enter the code into the designated field on the login screen.

  4. You'll then gain access to your account.

Backup Code

It's essential to keep the following in mind for backup and recovery purposes:

Backup Code: Keep a copy of the backup code provided after the setup process in a safe place. This code can be used as an alternative way to access your account if you can't use the authenticator app.

If you lose access to your authenticator app, you can log in using the backup code and reset your 2fa settings on your user settings page.
