Help article on the active funding round module and how to showcase your campaign to your network

Showcase your active funding round.

You can now showcase your active funding round to the potential investors in your network! With the new investment round module, you can attract interest in your funding campaign and add your funding round information to your company pitch.

How to activate:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Funding Round or click the "Start funding round" button in Founder tools

  2. Fill out the details of the round

  3. Click "Save & Publish"

Details:

  • Capital seeking = Fill in the amount of capital you are aiming to raise (and currency)

  • Pre-money valuation = Fill in your pre-money valuation (must be in the same currency as capital seeking)

  • Previous valuation = add your previous valuation.

  • Funding stage = Choose what is your funding stage (Pre-seed, seed, Pre-series A, Series A/B/C)

  • Type = Choose what kind of funding you are looking for

  • Lead Investor = If you have a lead investor in your network, you can add them here. They will be showcased on your funding round, building trust in your case.

  • Closing date = Choose the date you aim to close the round. It can be selected up to 90 days into the future.

You can always edit the round later and close it. The round will be automatically closed when the closing date is reached. You can always close the round in advance or edit the closing date when needed.


Tips to a successful funding round

Grow and engage your network in CrowdWorks as much as you can before turning on the funding round. Inviting your connections to your company profile and posting updates regularly before your investment round ensures they are "warm" and up to speed with your company's journey.

Take advantage of communities and your extended audience. Successful funding journeys often have one thing in common; they have a pool of investors who invest repeatedly. Highlighting the importance of engaging and keeping in touch with your network as stated above. But companies will often need new investors as well; in that case, your company's extended network is crucial. Community memberships in CrowdWorks are a great stepping stone to extending your audience. By regularly posting growth signals from your company there, you can gradually introduce your company and case.

For new connections to invest money in you, they must get to know you first! Why would they want to give their money to you if you are a stranger? But popping up on their radar regularly will make them warm up to you and interested to hear more.

This is why it is crucial to be actively visible long before you click the "start funding round" button!

  • Users in your extended network will see the "Raising Now" tag on your company card, and they can show their interest in the campaign:
